FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why are you teaching these classes online? And why in this manner?

Actually these classes are nothing else but the live broadcast of the live on-site classes we have in our covenstead in Midwest City, Oklahoma. We have started the live broadcast as, with the increasing cost of fuel and life in general, people weren't able to attend the on-site classes anymore. And also because we have received requests in this sense from people located in other states, or even other countries, who were interested in our teachings but had no way of attending the live classes.

2. Ok, why are you teaching these classes at all?

First of all, the Old World's way of witchcraft is very little known in the US - and most of our students are from the US. Part from the fact that it is mostly an oral tradition, and there is very little written/published material that can be found on this subject, and part from the fact that whatever can be found in a published form is usually not translated in English.

Second, the basics of the old ways witchcraft explain the basic rules, and the way witchcraft works. The market is practically inundated with materials that are mostly inaccurate, and do not explain the rules and mechanism of witchcraft. People are  going by these books, and get themselves and others harmed, in visible or subtle ways. The fact that the Pagan/witches community out there barely struggles at the brink of poverty, talks more about this fact than a million tomes would.

We do not assume that we know everything or that we are always right - but we want to share of what we know in the hope of helping people.

3. What do you teach?

We teach mainly the basics of East European traditional witchcraft. If the term "basics" might seem simple, it covers a vast array of subjects, from herbal healing to spellcasting to working with spirits, and so on.

From time to time,  we do have invited guests who teach various subjects. Not all of the classes taught by the invited guests are on live broadcast - not everybody is comfortable to show themselves out in public.

4. Who is teaching these classes?

Mainly our classes are taught by Day, who is our Grove's High Priestess. She is a Romanian family/tradition witch, who has come to the US in 1999. Besides the oral tradition she has grown in and been initiated into, she also has graduated the University of Bucharest, and has a MSc in Comparative Religions and another MSc in History of Religions. She is also a bio-energy therapist, certified in her native country (there is no legal certification in the US as of yet by our knowledge), and an ordained minister for the State of Oklahoma.

When we have invited guests as teachers, we announce who they are and what are their credentials.

5. When it comes to class participation, is there any requirement related to  being in any way related to your coven, be a member or a dedicant?

Absolutely not.  On the contrary, if you would want to become a dedicant or a member of our Grove, you would see it's not an easy thing. We do not seek to recruit anyone, neither do we impose our beliefs and way of doing things on others. We simply teach the basics of our ways.

6. Is there a grading system? Are you offering initiation degrees? And what are your fees?

At this point we do have a grading system, that will be the basis for accepting students in the advanced classes.

In the near future, we will ofer more in terms of online teaching, as we are in the works of establishing a distance learning online school. There will be degrees of study - but not degrees of initiation online. Initiation can only be done in person, as there is testing of applied knowledge that has to be done and that cannot be done in the virtual.

These basic classes are free to attend. On the advanced classes in the distance learning there will be a monthly subscription. It will be minimal, though, and only to cover the costs of maintaining the learning center. The admission in the advanced classes will be mostly determined by the test results of the basic classes graduation.

7. Who are your students? Is there a public list? How do you ensure privacy for your students?

There is no public list of the people who attend our classes. We do respect everybody's privacy, and they can choose or not to publish comments on the classes, and to have their homework discusses one-on-one in private emails or in public, during the classes or on the website. For the on-site classes, the camera is set in such a way that it will only show the teacher, not the people participating. The only thing we can tell you is that our students are from all over the world and your privacy will always be respected *smiles*.
