“Bio-energy-therapy” as it is called in Eastern Europe is very similar to the Reiki alternative healing method. The main difference is that in this method the therapist’s hands do not touch the body of the patient, most of the time, but the palms are about 1” to 5” away from the body of the patient. Obviously, besides the studies on the energy therapy, knowledge of human anatomy and pathology are required.
Most people know about chakras, energetic body, “chakra realigning”, etc. When we are ill, there is a dysfunction in the energetic body. A person trained in bioenergy healing sees these blockages and distortions in your energetic body, the spots where the energy is “not flowing”, or where it is not flowing right, and realigns the flows. Most bioenergeticians see these areas as “cold” or “black” areas. It is not a “miracle cure” though, and it will never work just by itself. Usually it is complemented with a change of diet, herbal therapy, crystalo-therapy, and other alternative healing methods, as well as regular medical care. Bioenergy therapy is a legal therapy in most East European countries at the present. Several schools are accredited, and there are numerous clinics, and there is a substantial collaboration between the "classic doctors" and the alternative therapy specialists. Many of the medical doctors do use alternative therapies complementary with the classic medical care as well.
